DESCRIPTION:The Lung Wellness Program is a group for individuals living with chronic lung conditions such as COPD and asthma. If you want to learn more about managing your lung disease\, have barriers to attending a pulmonary rehab program in person\, or have attended a workshop in the past and would like a refresher\, this group could be right for you. \nA Respiratory Therapist will lead the program virtually\, utilizing the Living Well with COPD education material. Topics include breathing management\, tips on conserving energy\, reducing respiratory infections\, controlling environmental factors\, mood management\, and much more. \nYou will learn from clinical guest speakers about nutrition\, relaxation techniques\, beginner exercises\, and advanced care planning. Additionally\, guided instructions for the Home Exercise Program will be sent to you by mail. This group is designed to meet you where you are with your lung concerns and helps to build your confidence in increasing physical activity and managing your lung disease. \n6 week session – 2 days per week (Tuesday and Friday)\, 1.5 hours each. \nPlease call 780-395-2626 to register.
